About All the Film Cameras

A film camera directory to help you explore the photographs, understand the controls and choose a model you'll enjoy using.

Find a camera that suits the way you shoot

Choosing a film camera means working out what you want to carry and which controls you want to use. We bring model details and sample photographs together so you can explore both before choosing.

The directory includes 933 cameras and 462 sample photos. Browse by brand, camera type or film format, or use the camera finder to narrow your options. You can compare up to three models side by side.

Film, lenses, light, technique, developing and scanning all affect a photograph. Sample photos can help you find an approach you like, but the camera alone won't reproduce a particular look.

How we help you choose

We start with how you want to shoot. Your photography plans, preferred controls and choice of film guide the camera finder's suggestions, so you can focus on models that fit your needs.

Among those matches, we favor established favorites that remain popular with film photographers. We also consider documented marketplace availability and film support, helping you find a camera you can realistically buy and use today.

Camera details and guides draw on manuals, manufacturer histories and linked references. You can follow a model's source links to learn more.
